The garden goals of 2012

I'm looking forward to starting my garden this year.  I moved a couple years ago and haven't had a garden for the past two summers.  I feel like I'm slapping the faces of my ancestors.  My family all enjoyed gardening even though the tradition was born from necessity.  Any bad day can be brightened by turning some dirt.  I love the smell of freshly turned soil and the sight of seedlings popping through the ground.  Living in Oklahoma means lots of hot days and plentiful sunshine.  I truly believe that everyone should grow something to eat if they have even the tiniest spot to do so.  Today I'm drawing the plans for my garden and hopefully will have some photos up soon.  It's gonna be smaller than I want but a little is better than none and next year will be better.  I've spent a great deal of time researching and can't wait to try out some of the nifty ideas I've read about.

My jump off the pier into the foreign waters of blogging!

Wow I'm blogging! So excited to have started my blog. I'm one of those people who just want to run years backward. Full of nostalgia and starving for a "simple life" and 2012 is the year for it to happen.  I read a lot of blogs and I love it.  I've learned a myriad of lessons on simple life and the things I most enjoy.  Now I'm trying my hand at sharing in the blog world.  Notice I said sharing.  Thats because I'm learning and don't have much to teach.  Someday I will though and in the meantime I just love to discuss the things that interest me.  Things such as gardening, decorating, cooking, reading, and junk treasure shopping.  Especially vintage gardening and junk.
